This is a 3 room HDB BTO unit in Upper Aljunied. The vision was clear from the start that one of the bedrooms will be hacked to enlarge the living space so that homeowners can host comfortably. The extended space is also needed to fit a dining table and an office desk without making the walking space too cramped.

Behind the sofa is the kitchen and having the fridge
outside of the cooking area is understandably not ideal but this has allowed for a longer counter top space for prep and to house more kitchen appliances.

In order to soften the look of the tall unit, cladding the doors with mirrors helps to reflect light and floor space, making the unit look bigger than it seems compared to normal laminated doors.
